The company seeks an enthusiastic, passionate believer in the anti-sweatshop movement who has the potential to become a cooperative owner for its Worcester, MA location. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing print production and performing hands-on technical print operations. The ideal candidate will be mechanically minded, self-directed, self-motivated, and have an excellent eye for detail.

Digital Press Operator

Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize daily work load reviewing work orders and client specific specifications
  • Set up and operate direct to garment printing presses and dye sublimation presses
  • Operate Kornit direct digital print equipment and perform hands-on technical print set-up
  • Inspect printed products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure quality and consistency
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition following safety regulations
  • Carry out maintenance on presses and production equipment  per planned schedules
  • Troubleshoot, implement corrective action, and repair equipment as needed
  • Report all production and equipment related issues
  • Monitor tool and part inventories requisitioning supplies as necessary
  • Monitor press runs for productivity, quality, efficiency, and waste making adjustments as needed
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment
  • Understand manufacturing capabilities and look for opportunities to streamline workflow

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience operating and maintaining printing presses; digital preferred, but open to offset, screen and flexo backgrounds
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and results driven; monitors own work to ensure quality production
  • Experience operating Direct To Garment (DTG) Kornit digital print equipment a plus
  • Ability to quickly diagnose print and mechanical issues.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to maintain and manage production equipment
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop a plus
  • Strong math, reading, and color management skills
  • Team player with a strong sense or urgency to “get the job done”
  • Flexibility – Ability to work varied hours as needed to ensure successful completion of production
  • Able to communicate professionally with employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable assistance.

Production Artist

The company seeks an enthusiastic, passionate believer in the anti-sweatshop movement who has the potential to become a member of our co-operative business. The successful candidate will be responsible for print production and performing hands-on manual print operations. The ideal candidate will be mechanically minded, self-directed, self-motivated, and have an excellent eye for detail.

Responsibilites:

  • Create and edit design layouts for apparel and promotional products
  • Coordinate effective staging of jobs to be printed, review work order and specifications to confirm accuracy and print quality
  • Inspect pre-press materials and printed products at various stages of production to ensure conformance to specifications, applying knowledge of print techniques
  • Monitor performance against production standards, objectives, and budget
  • Manage embellishment vendors ensuring accurate artwork, orders, and embellishment inventory
  • Provide ongoing input into the company’s processes for continuous improvement, increased efficiency, and cost reduction

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Graphic Design or at least 5 years of relevant work experience in apparel printing trade
  • Strong working knowledge of print production techniques
  • Good computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud including Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Strong math, reading, and color management skills
  • A team player with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision to achieve deadline driven results
  • Highly organized with a meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced deadline driven environment
  • Excellent customer service, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Have a strong bias for action with a “get the job done” attitude
  • Flexibility – Ability to work varied hours as needed to ensure successful completion of production

Small Package Packing and Shipping

Responsibilities:

The company seeks an enthusiastic, passionate believer in the anti-sweatshop movement who has the potential to become a member of our co-operative business. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving and prepping orders for production team, matching finished products to packing slips and fulfilling orders through online shipping software. The ideal candidate will be familiar with internet shipping, self-directed, self-motivated, and have an excellent eye for detail.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED; college welcome
  • Possess strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn new and emerging online shipping methods
  • 2+ years’ business experience with online package shipping
  • Possess strong math and reading skills
  • Be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable assistance
  • Have outstanding attention to detail, organization, planning, and problem-solving skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Demonstrate sound business judgment, strong decision making, and superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Have a strong sense of urgency with a “get the job done” attitude Have read, understood and enthusiastically commit to the core mission of the Cooperative
  • Work to advance the anti-sweatshop movement through day to day leadership of the Cooperative
  • Help coordinate effective staging of jobs to be printed, receive finished, printed goods and match up to packing slips before packaging and shipping orders
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow safety regulations
  • Be committed to and passionate about the anti-sweatshop movement with a desire to build a business around social responsibility and fair labor practices
